Welcome to This Day in Barrington History
Good morning and welcome to February 9th and Day 40 of 365 in Barrington, Illinois! You’ll find our stories of the day – past, present & future (events) – right here on today’s DailyPage. Because every day has its own rhythm, we’re sharing a song of the day here at 365Barrington.com.
On this day, February 9th in 1964, The Beatles made their US live debut on CBS-TV’s ‘The Ed Sullivan Show’. They performed five songs including their current No.1 on that day which was ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand’. Never before had so many viewers tuned-in to a live television program which, with 73 million viewers, was three-fourths of the total adult audience in the United States. The show had received over 50,000 applications for the 728 seats in the TV studio.
Stay tuned for our daily songs this month. We’ll be choosing some of our favorite LOVE SONGS leading up to Valentine’s Day.
Also, do you know someone who has a birthday today? Add their name in the comments box below and we’ll give them a 365Barrington birthday shoutout!
