Citizens for Conservation Spring Plant Sale 2023

Each May, CFC hosts one of the oldest and largest native plant sales in Illinois, currently selling over 20,000 plants each year, expanding native habitat in yards throughout the Chicago region. Last year CFC had more than 100 volunteers contribute 1,400 hours to make this important event happen.

This year the plant sale will be at CFC’s newest and largest preserve, Hill ‘N Dale Preserve, in Barrington Hills.

There are shifts available for different aspects of the sale – click here to find an opportunity for you.

Lake County Forest Preserve — Restoration Workdays

With no experience required, Restoration Workdays are a great opportunity to spend time outdoors while giving back to the environment! The workdays occur in different preserves around the county, on weekdays & on weekends allowing for flexibility for any schedule. Spring is a busy time for brush cleaning, native plant seed collection and processing, and tree & shrub planting.

This is a great family-friendly volunteer opportunity as children 10 years & up are welcome with an adult so grab some work gloves & help restore the environment while getting a behind-the-scenes look at your preserves!
