BAVC Calls Out to Volunteers during National Volunteer Month!

April is National Volunteer Month and Barrington Area Volunteer Connection (BAVC) invites residents to join our platform and get involved in our community!

With BAVC, it’s an easy & efficient way to get started volunteering or to add something new to your current volunteering roles. Barrington Area Volunteer Connection’s platform helps you identify you interests and your skills and allows you to match it with your availability all at one time.

In addition, this month BAVC & the Library are collaborating on an community event:

Saturday, April 13, 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Barrington Area Library

This is an easy way to both adults and teens to meet in person with nonprofit organizations & learn about the non-profits resources and their volunteer opportunities.

Residents can also go on the BAVC platform and find many upcoming opportunities such as:

Barrington Area Rotary Club – Highway Cleanup

Saturday April 6 pm at 1:00 pm

Help beautify our streets! For volunteers in 8th grade or older – please meet at Makray Golf Course Parking Lot. (Wear clothes suitable to the weather and gloves. The Rotary will provide safety vests and bags.)

Volunteers for CFC’s 2024 Plant Sale!

April 30th – May 5th

Citizens for Conservation (CFC) in Barrington has multiple opportunities for their upcoming annual plant sale in early May. Volunteers are needed to assist prior to the event with pre-sales and set up and also during the event helping customers with their orders as well as selecting plants. This is a great opportunity for those who enjoy being outdoors, and plants! Please click below to view all the opportunities – volunteers are invited to sign up for multiple shifts or jobs.

Wings Program Mother’s Day 5k

Sunday, May 12th

Volunteers are needed to help the upcoming WINGS 5k Race in Barrington Opportunities to assist with registration, post-race registration/food, as course Marshals, and at the Water Stations. The WINGS Program, Inc. provides housing, integrated services, education and advocacy to their participants to end domestic violence.
