Special Gifts Theatre (SGT)

Special Gifts Theatre’s unique programs develop self-confidence, social, speech and language skills in individuals with disabilities. SGT uses educational and therapeutic techniques with the stage as the platform integrating creativity and fun!

They are currently looking for Peer Mentors between ages 10 to 18 years as well as adult Board Members.

Little City Foundation

The mission at Little City in Palatine is to serve children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Little City does this by providing their participants the best options and opportunities to live safely, learn continuously, explore creatively, and work productively throughout their lifetime.

Multiple volunteer opportunities are available at Little City in IT, on the board, and assisting around the facility.

Boys and Girls Club of East Dundee (BGC)

Serving District 220, this is one of the larger programs within the Boys and Girls Club of America umbrella. Their mission to provide students with homework help, tutoring, a daily snack and hot dinner, and participation in enrichment programs. All programs are in the core areas of education and career development, character and leadership, health and life skills, sports, fitness and recreation, and the arts.

Volunteer ages 18 and up are needed to help at the High School Impact Center. If you enjoy working with teens, get engaged with the club’s programming! Help at their Music/Sound Labs, Culinary Kitchen, and Computer Tech Lab, etc.
