As we head into another holiday season, many of us start to think about how we can help locally in the spirit of giving and showing our gratitude for our blessings.
Volunteering can be an important part of that, as what better way to give than to share your time with organizations that devote their services to the community all year round?
Below are some of the current opportunities on the Barrington Area Volunteer Connection (BAVC) platform to explore:
Catlow 1927 Foundation
Are you passionate about preserving history and supporting community arts? Join the Catlow 1927 Foundation team as they work to restore the iconic Catlow Theatre and create a vibrant community hub in downtown Barrington!
Volunteers are needed to help at Catlow East, our retail location where we sell exclusive merchandise and share updates about the restoration. This is a great opportunity if you enjoy interacting with people and want to be part of a new community venture.

GiveNKind Center
GiveNKind volunteers help sort and organize new products donated by major companies and pull orders placed by our nonprofit partners. Volunteers should be comfortable walking and picking up items less than 10 lbs.
GiveNKind has a strong volunteer culture and welcomes new volunteers into our community. Volunteers ages 13 and up are welcome so this is a good family friendly or group opportunity if you are looking to do something together on a personal or business level.
