Barrington Area Volunteer Connection (BAVC)’s platform will simplify your search and make it easy for you to find what you can do to help.
Being part of a community, especially in the Barrington Area, is something we all rely on and need for support. Signing up to volunteer via the BAVC platform, in celebration of Valentine’s Day, is a great way to take a moment and do your part for the local nonprofits that provide support and resources all year round to residents. You can find family friendly or group activities to do together throughout the year!
Below are some of our current volunteer needs:
Lake Forest County Preserve
Help preserve our beautiful landscapes here in Barrington! Restoration Workdays occur in dozens of sites around the county, some on weekdays & some on weekends. These are no-commitment, no experience required – come to as many workdays as you can. Children 10 years & up are welcome with an adult; groups also welcome!

Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA)
Spending time helping older adults in our community can be a rewarding way to volunteer. BACOA has several volunteer opportunities that can fit any busy lifestyle.
From assisting as a memory care assistant, using your skills to help seniors navigate insurance, assisting with Meals on Wheels or simply just being a visitor, volunteering at BACOA will help continue the programs that are essential to their programming.

Let It Be Us
Helping to foster children who need a warm and caring placement home is a unique volunteer opportunity on the BAVC platform. Help be part of nurturing the next generation of adults! Let It Be Us has openings for adults who can foster children as well as adults who can help recruit new families who can can assist with children that are experiencing Down’s Syndrome.
Training and support is giving given to volunteers, so if this is something you have always wanted to do, now is the time to get involved!
