The Saint Anne Catholic Community stepped up with a very strong show of support for the parish school, faith formation and ministry programs during their annual spring fundraising gala.  The final numbers are in and the Denim & Diamonds event at Wynstone Golf Club raised over $75,000 to support the parish in significant ways.

About 160 guests attended Denim & Diamonds on Friday, April 24th. Saint Anne Catholic Community Marking Director, Amy Holsworth, says denim, dressed up (bling optional) was the evening’s attire.

“We didn’t want our guests to have to worry about finding that perfect dress or renting a tux. With Denim & Diamonds, attendees could wear their favorite jeans or dress, paired with some fun jewelry and maybe even some sparkly shoes. For men, we found they really enjoyed wearing jeans and a jacket. No suits, ties or tuxes required!”

The dress code and fun theme set the tone for a relaxed, yet elegant affair and Amy says a number of generous donors from the Barrington area helped make Denim & Diamonds a great success.

“In keeping with our Denim & Diamonds theme, Long & Co. and M.J. Miller & Co. jewelers helped support our live, mini-live and silent auctions by donating several items. Long & Co. donated three 18K gold cross necklaces that were designed to replicate the cross on the top of our bell tower here at the church. M.J. Miller donated a sapphire and 18K white gold heart pendant on a blue chain—very apropos to our theme!! Both merchants, among many others, have been extremely generous to the Saint Anne Catholic Community.”

Tickets were sold out for about a month before the event.  There were games and prizes offered throughout the evening, which concluded with a live auction followed by a video that we at 365Barrington.com produced about current scholarship fund needs within the Saint Anne Catholic Community.  “Everyone focused their attention and clapped at the videos commencement,” Amy says. “Instantly hands went up to support this worthy cause and a grant goal of $30,000 was raised in less than 5 minutes!”

Amy says the spring gala, along with the Fall Golf Classic in September, are the two major fundraisers Saint Anne Catholic Community hosts each year.  “The funds will enable the Saint Anne parish community to continue to offer a significant yearly contribution to our parish school, to support our faith formation programs for all ages and to continue to sustain the many vibrant ministries that bring our Faith Community to life.
