If you’d like to sit back and listen to the music and sounds of 1940’s radio, the Barrington Park District is the place to be tonight. The Barrington Cultural Arts Center is hosting “A 1940’s Radio Review” and tickets are still available.
The performers have made a special trip to Barrington to put on their Radio Review featuring the work of Jack Benny, Burns and Allen and other 40’s radio personalities. There’ll be live music, sound effects and a barbershop quartet to help take you back to the day when radio was the hub of every household.
The show starts at 7PM at The Barrington Park District Fitness and Recreation Center at Langendorf Park. The performers are from RG Productions, an award winning radio theater group from Kenosha, Wisconsin. Seating is Cabaret Style, small tables with 4 to 6 seats, and there will be coffee, tea and desserts served. Tickets are $10 for park district members and $12 for non-members.
Proceeds from tonight’s performance will benefit the Barrington Cultural Arts Center, a group of local Barrington artists raising money promote arts and cultural events right here in Barrington.
