My husband, two kids and I were heading to a birthday party this weekend when he decided he would dictate today’s blog post to me. It went a little something like this: “Baby Billy’s being baptized tomorrow. We’re so thankful that he’s here. God Bless America. The End.” He was making a joke, but it was also his way of reminding me that, no matter how many responsibilities we have, there are a few things that matter most.
It has only been three months since this photo was taken, but it already seems so long ago. It’s so true what they say about time and the blink of an eye. If you’re like me, you probably add more than you subtract from your to-do list daily. But every now and then I put my foot down and say “Stop. You have helpers for this. Go be with your peeps and kiss some baby cheeks”.
As I continue to expand on my list of “Things to do in Barrington,” I’m going to keep this photo close to help me remember the point of it all. And maybe one of these days I’ll get around to getting those birth announcements in the mail.
