There’s a great way to get some fresh air and exercise this weekend while helping raise money to support local cancer survivors and their families. It’s the first ever Wellness Place Community Cancer Walk/Run and it’s taking place Sunday, May 16th at Harper College in Palatine.
The walk is planned to raise money, support and celebrate those whose lives or loved ones have been touched by cancer in some way. Proceeds will benefit Wellness Place cancer-related counseling, education and support programs. All services are provided at no charge to survivors and their family, friends and caregivers.
Registsration begins tomorrow at 9AM sharp. The 5K run starts at 10AM and the 3K walk starts at 10:30. The cost to participate is $25 for adults, $15 for kids age 6-16 and $80 for families. There is no fee for kids age 0-5.
