Voters turned out in record numbers for our 365 Barrington Finale Spring Break Photo Contest. Close to 1,000 people visited 365Barrington.com yesterday alone and there were over 500 votes cast. We were able to see some of the beautiful places and ways people in Barrington spent spring break so I want to say THANK YOU to those who entered the contest and the many others who helped choose our winners.
We had about two dozen entries and the votes started coming in quickly when we opened the poll yesterday. There were photos shared from beaches around the world, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the White House, Whistler Mountain, downtown Chicago and right here in Barrington. The competition was fierce, but the results are in. So, without further adieu, I’m happy to reveal our first place prize winner. With 25-percent of the votes cast and winning a party for 10 people at Pinstripes Bowling, Bocce and Bistro, Barrington area photographer, Emily Hernandez takes the top prize with this beautiful image she captured of her husband during a dramatic sunset in Costa Rica.
Coming in Second Place, with 10-percent of the votes cast, is Barrington resident and mom, Casey Koslowski with her photo of her husband and daughter enjoying a quiet lakeside moment. Casey wins four “Mystery Gift Cards” sealed in gold foil-stamped envelopes. Each card contains either a $10, $15, $20 or $25 gift certificate to be used anywhere at Deer Park Town Center.
Our third place winner, with 7-percent of the votes cast for her photo titled “Spring’s First Bouquet” is a young Barrington photographer by the name of Kelly Stickney. Kelly is a freshman at Barrington High School and submitted several photos of her family’s visit to Marco Island, Florida. Kelly wins a $50 gift certificate to Pinstripes Bowling, Bocce and Bistro.
And I can’t help but name an “Honorable Mention” because this fourth photo called “Spring Lovin’ Savannah” came so close to capturing the third place spot. From the look on this little girl’s face, she spent the better part of spring break dressed for the sun and happy to be on a pogo stick. Her mom captured this image at exactly the perfect moment.
Congratulations to our winners and thanks again for participating in our contest. I’ll be emailing you this week to make arrangements to deliver your winnings. I also want to thank Pinstripes and Deer Park Town Center for offering our generous prizes. The stakes were high, but the photos were so much fun to see.
I hope you’ll come back and visit 365Barrington.com tomorrow. The full year will be complete and I have something very special planned for day #365.
Thanks for the “Honorable Mention” and the special shout-out! Yes, Savannah pogos whenever she can. She even pogo-ed down the driveway to the school bus the other day. 🙂 I look forward to the next photo contest!
I voted for “Spring Lovin’ Savannah”. We’ll check back tomorrow.
