The signs they are a-changin’ at the Shops at Flint Creek in Barrington.  I had to grab my camera and snap a few photos today when I recently spotted a crew hanging the sign outside the new Heinen’s Fine Foods store opening in Barrington on Wednesday, August 22nd!

The new store’s doors will open at 10 a.m. sharp on Wednesday, August 22nd. The brothers who run the company, Tom and Jeff Heinen, will both be on hand for the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony when they officially open for business.

They’ve hired about 120 people to staff the new store and have a great series of food-related festivities coming up in the months ahead. Here’s a quick look at whats on the schedule…

“We Know Our Sources” meet the ranchers that raise Heinen’s Own Beef and meet the fishermen from Alaska and Boston that overnight their catch directly to Heinen’s stores

Learn about the Heinen’s food stories and taste our specialty products – Two Brothers items and Heinen’s organic private label
September 28, 29 & 30
Artisan Cheese Fest – Heinen’s has received numerous awards and accolades for their artisan cheese selection. This event will showcase their favorite and customer favorite cheeses. Guest appearances by cheese makers (details forthcoming)
October 5, 6 & 7
Clam Bake and Fresh Live Lobster from Maine – Meet the fishermen that supply Heinen’s with fresh lobsters; cooking demonstrations

The new Heinen’s store is where Staples used to be in the Shops at Flint Creek, 500 N. Hough Street, Suite 150. That’s on the west side of Route 59 (Barrington Road), just south of Route 14 (Northwest Highway) and north of Lake Cook Road (Main Street).
