The Barrington Country Garden and Antique Faire is the signature fundraising event for Hands of Hope, a community of volunteers founded in 1999 by Barrington resident, Vicky Wauterlek, to build new schools, a medical clinic and dozens of water wells in sub-Saharan Africa.

Vicky says this week’s event makes a world of difference in the lives of so many families.

“Through funds raised at the Faire, we have been honored to help those living in desperately poor villages in Africa become thriving communities with successful businesses, clean water, schools and clinics.

Even more gratifying is to see a once hopeless and forgotten people develop a sense of worth, pride and accomplishment.

Hands of Hope is an all volunteer 501(c)3 not for profit organization, and we are confident that funds entrusted to us are used to make a maximum impact in the lives of others.”
