The Barrington 220 school district just announced that BHS graduate and NY Times Bestselling author of the books DIVERGENT and INSURGENT, Veronica Roth, is coming to Barrington on Oct. 3 for an Alumni Legends Event hosted by the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation.
Veronica Roth graduated from Barrington High School with the class of 2006.
Her book, DIVERGENT, is being made into a major motion picture based on her futuristic action-adventure trilogy and will be released in theaters by Summit Entertainment in March of 2014. The movie stars Shailene Woodley, Kate Winslet, Theo James, and Ashley Judd.
During her visit to Barrington, Veronica will share her story as well as read an excerpt from her much awaited new book, ALLEGIANT.
The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 3rd, at Barrington High School. Tickets cost $10 and are available for purchase now, but they’re expected to sell fast.

The event is part of the Barrington 220 Educational Foundation’s Alumni Legends program, where they showcase noteworthy Barrington High School graduates.
The foundation is a not-for-profit, volunteer organization that finds the funds for initiatives that enhance learning but are not otherwise supported by tax revenues.
