U.S. Army father, Sgt. Robert Schroeder returned home to Lake Barrington with a surprise visit to his son’s preschool classroom. Barrington Suburban Life reporter Tarah Thorne stepped in to the homecoming celebration just in time to see the shocked 4-year-old jump into his father’s arms.
Mad for “Wonderland”
Prairie Middle School students took the stage for their annual fall play over the weekend. “Alice in Wonderland” performance photos bring readers up close to familiar student-characters such as the Mad Hatter and Cheshire Cat.

Meet the man behind the magic – Louis Passau, who told Barrington Suburban Life Reporter Tarah Thorne about his biannual routine of time-syncing more than 150 clocks at Barrington High School, and hundreds more district-wide.
