This fun afternoon event will feature author readings, book signings, and keynote speaker/Chicago area author Sonali Dev, whose debut novel, A Bollywood Affair, has won honors from NPR, ALA, and more!

You’ll meet and hear from poets, illustrators, and memoirists, writers passionate about Barrington history, and creative minds behind fiction both historical and modern. Barrington’s beloved fashion maven Dyllis Braithwaite will be there will her new book, Oh! I Love What You’re Wearing, celebrating the years she ran Finn’s Fabrics by Dyllis right here in town. Eleanor Anne Sweet and Orlando Ceaser will share insights into building your career and finding leadership success. Another local favorite, Jim Proebstle, has turned family history into riveting historical fiction. And with this being our community’s sesquicentennial year, you’ll surely want to meet Diane Kostick, author of Voices of Barrington.

We’re still working out the day’s schedule of events, but other authors who have confirmed their appearances are: Mike Bavier, Sharon Bossard, Theodore Grippo, Terry Loncaric, Toni Diol, Buddy Gunn & Sharon Gunn, Claudia Marie Lenart, Donn Ziebell, Charles Peraino, Georgann Prochaska, Mitsuo (“Duke”) Ogata, Shakuntala Rajagopal, Lance Erlick, Bani Bhattacharyya, David C. Smith, Laura Quinn, Frank Heiberger, John Monek, and Susan Marie Schulhof.

It’s the perfect afternoon for every book lover!

Books will be available for purchase and signing – take home a new favorite for yourself, and remember: signed books make wonderful gifts! Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free and open to the public, but registration is highly encouraged – it takes just a few seconds to register on the library website. The event takes place in the first floor library Meeting Room.
