The Barrington Farmers Market was started in 2000 by the Barrington Village Association (BVA), a homeowner’s group made up of residents living in the downtown Village area. With the motto “Bringing Neighbors Together,” the BVA hast run the market with the objective of building community, adding to the character of Barrington’s historic Village and increasing traffic in the downtown area.
With great food products and community involvement, the Farmers Market has turned out to be “the place to be” on Thursday during the summer & fall months. After the market, don’t forget to check out Barrington Cruise Nights, which also run on Thursday nights starting at 6:30 p.m. through August 27th.
Barrington residents are committed to charitable giving and, in keeping with this community value, volunteers offer a non-profit booth at each Farmers Market to keep guests up-to-date on happenings and ways to get involved. This year, they will offer guests the ability to make donations at the market so that our local food pantries can offer Farmers Market gift certificates to those in need.
You’ll find the Barrington Farmers Market at the intersection of Cook & Main Streets, in the parking lot directly across the street from McGonigals Pub.
