The featured beer list will blow your mind for the 12th Annual Barrington Brew Fest at Metra’s North Commuter Parking Lot in downtown Barrington on Saturday, July 11th.
Beer enthusiasts from around the region will be be sporting their favorite beer-slogan t-shirts and pretzel necklaces while sharing laughs over a diverse selection of frothy, cold brews between 3 and 7 p.m. But the cause behind this beer-fueled bash is truly one of the toasts of the town!
All proceeds from Brew Fest will help support programs brought to us by the Barington Area Council on Aging, also known as BACOA. Founded thirty years ago, BACOA exists to promote vibrant, healthy aging by providing activities, education, and support to adults and caregivers. BACOA serves approximately 1,200 individuals a year and assists the community in the following ways:
Information on housing options or in-home care services * Meals-with-Wheels * Enrollment in Medicare and Medicaid * Counseling on insurance, benefits and Medicare Part D * Support and education groups for seniors and caregivers * Activities and programs for active seniors * A day respite program for older adults * Educational programs and services for the community on issues related to aging
While supporting BACOA is one of BrewFest’s major missions, the event’s goal is to bring beer lovers together to sample a variety of beers produced by about fifty breweries.
What goes best with a cool brew? Good food! Brew Fests vendors will be serving up a selection of summer favorites.
Tickets will be available at the entrance for $50 (cash only).
The ticket price includes beer samplings, a tasting glass and Brew Fest t-shirt (while supplies last). They also offer a $20 Designated Driver ticket which includes unlimited soft drinks, tasting glass and Brew Fest t-shirt.
