Barrington Animal Hospital is starting the new year with a toast to the care of our pets in 2017! Since 1934, they’ve promised to provide local pets with the healthiest, happiest and longest life possible and they even treated a dog named Abel to a day of doggy pampering in 2016.

The winner of our Pamper Your Pooch Photo Contest, Abel had a blast out on the town. Barrington Animal Hospital sent professional photographer Kellyann Harmon of Kellwood Studio Photography along to capture images from Abel’s big day which included a doggy makeover at Bonejour Pet Grooming, lunch from the pets’ menu at Egg Harbor Cafe and a shopping spree for Abel at Cody and Carl’s Boulevard dog boutique, bakery and natural pet food market.

When Abel’s owner Jennifer Vaughn entered him into our contest she wrote that he deserved a day of pampering because he endured so much after undergoing multiple surgeries for various health issues.  “He is truly a little love bug who has fought so hard to live. He is Abel, our little miracle.” Our voters agreed and chose Abel as the contest winner. Jennifer says Abel had a great time during his special day out and thanks the caregivers at Barrington Animal Hospital for making it all possible.

Abel is one of dozens of dogs entered by their owners in our Pamper Your Pooch Photo Contest. Click here to read about all nominated dogs, pictured here.

Thank you to Dr. Stapleton, the vets and caregivers at Barrington Animal Hospital for hosting our Pamper Your Pooch contest and reminding us to always find time to show our canine companions the love they so deserve.
