Ode to the Barrington Farmers Market on Opening Day

It’s finally here.
Today is the day!
The Farmers Market
has returned to stay
for eighteen whole weeks
on every Thursday.
From three to seven
come shop, eat and play.
Fresh produce and goods
bright flowers galore
balloons for the kids
live music and more.
Downtown Barrington
is the place to be.
Welcome back, farmers.
We’re all filled with glee!

I couldn’t resist the rhyme but, in a nutshell, all are welcome to come experience, explore & shop the Barrington Farmers Market from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursdays, June 13th through October 17th at the corner of Park Avenue & Cook Street in the Village of Barrington!

Along with the return of old favorites there will be new features at the market this summer. Go Green Barrington and the Barrington Breakfast Rotary are offering a Bag Share each Thursday from 3-7 p.m. Bring your clean tote bags or take one to use as you support efforts to reduce single-use plastics! Also, they’ll be offering knife sharpening services EVERY week! Remember to bring yours to have them sharpened while you shop.

Bring your friends & family to enjoy the season’s best locally sourced produce as well as a variety of area vendors plus live music & activities for kids. The 2019 Barrington Farmers Market runs through Thursday, October 17th.

The weekly Barrington Farmers Market features local vendors selling produce and handmade goods plus kids’ activities, live music and more from 3-7 p.m. on Thursdays at Park Avenue & Cook Street in downtown Barrington since 2000. Learn more at
