Learn to home brew your own Kombucha Tea with Smart Farm of Barrington from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 7th. The class will be administered by experienced home brewer, Tamara Jazwinski. Kombucha drinkers say hers is the best they’ve ever tasted!

Kombucha is a fermented drink made with tea, sugar, bacteria and yeast. Juice, spices, fruit or other flavorings are often added to enhance the taste. Kombucha is also believed to be a source of probiotics and antioxidants which help manage or reduce of the risk of health conditions like diabetes, heart disease and cancer.

In this class you will learn about kombucha and the basics to start brewing at home. Get a taste of first and second ferment kombucha. There will also be an optional starter kit available for purchase priced at $25.

The class will be held at The Smart Farm Learning Center at 490 W IL 22 in Lake Barrington, IL. Please note that GPS directions are incorrect. They’re located west of the Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital and east of Kelsey Rd on the North Side of Rte 22.

The class begins at 10:00am and runs approximately 2 hours. The fee is $30 plus $15 each for additional family members. Click here to register today!
