February 15th in Barrington History

Welcome to This Day in Barrington History

Good morning and welcome to February 15th, PRESIDENTS’ DAY, and Day 46 of 365 in Barrington, Illinois! You’ll find our stories of the day – past, present & future (events) – right here on today’s DailyPage. Because every day has its own rhythm, we’re sharing a song of the day here at 365Barrington.com.

On this day, February 15th in 1969, Sly and the Family Stone started a four week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with ‘Everyday People’, their first No.1. Released in November, 1969, the song is one of Sly Stone‘s pleas for peace and equality between differing races and social groups, a major theme and focus for the band.
