Volunteer Month Momentum Carries Into May with the BAVC!

The Barrington Area Volunteer Connection‘s Volunteer Live Event a few weeks ago was a big success for volunteers and nonprofits. We want to thank all the residents who stopped by & our nonprofits for sharing their time.

April & National Volunteer Month are officially over, but it’s always a good day to jump in and sign up on the website for Barrington Area Volunteer Connection (BAVC)! We have seen a lot of activity on our platform from new volunteers and would love to keep the momentum going. We are reaching out to all residents to help make that happen!

Sign up today and create a profile as the first step. Then you search through the open Needs to find opportunities that will be available in the next few weeks or our platform will do the search for you and send you an email. It really is that simple!

Here are just a few of the opportunities that are available in the next two weeks:

Walk On Farms – Pre Open House Work on May 3rd.

Get some time outdoors & help get the Barn in tip-top shape on Friday, May 3
9:00 am – 2:00 pm. Volunteer help can be anytime during this window so you can help as much as your time allows.

Barrington Children’s Charities – P.O.P. (Packs of Plenty) Food Distribution Program

There is still almost a month left of school ! BCC’s program provides a pack full of nutritious food for children to consume over the weekend. Each week, volunteers meet to pack more than 500 bags of food that get delivered to the children who participate in the program.

Any volunteer help accepted – whether it’s one time or ongoing. Packing occurs every Thursday each month during the school year from 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at District 220 school, Sunny Hill Elementary in Carpentersville.

WINGS Program – Mother’s Day 5K

This is a perfect family friendly event — Volunteers ages 14 and up can register – Celebrate time with your Mother’s Day with your mom and help other mothers who are in need.

Volunteer spots still open for Registration, Post-race registration, Food Distribution, Course Marshal, and Water Station
