School Supplies and the Sales Tax Holiday

If you haven’t gone school supply shopping yet, this is a great week to do it. That’s because the Illinois Sales Tax Holiday is underway and runs through Sunday, August 15th. The holiday suspends the State’s sales tax of 5% on eligible school supplies, clothing and footwear, while leaving the 1.25% rate paid to local governments.
