It is a gorgeous day today! If you want to get outside and pick up some of the freshest produce in town, stop by and see Farmer Wayne Miller at the Barrington Farmers Market this afternoon. He and his crew have been at the Farmers Market every Thursday this summer from their farm in Coloma, Michigan. He recently struck a pose for Barrington photographer, Anthony Tortoriello.
Farmer Wayne’s here with his fresh farm grown raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, blueberries, cherries, pears, nectarines jams and honeys at the market from 2-7PM today. They also have apple butter, pear butter and apple cider. Wayne says their peaches will only be in season for the next week or two, but he says he hopes their apples will be ready for us when they’re back in town next week.
The Barrington Farmers Market runs from 2 to 7PM this afternoon and every Thursday in Barrington through October 31st. You’ll find the farmers market on Park Avenue, one block southeast from the intersection of Hough (Barrington Road/Illinois Route 59) and Lake Cook Road.
My friend & I attended the Grayslake IL farmers mkt this year & both of us bought some of ur jams. Let me tell u..they were the best I have ever eaten.
