In the mood to see some Sugar Plum Fairies, Waltzing Flowers and Russian Dancers today? I have the perfect solution! There’s a Mini-Nutcracker performance happening this afternoon at Barrington’s Ice House Mall.
It’s the Midwest Dance Collective’s annual Mini-Nutcracker performance featuring “The Land of Sweets” under the direction of Barrington dancer, teacher and choreographer, Ellen Werksman.
The performance will take place right at 1PM and, for the grand finale, you can have pictures taken with your favorite characters.
The Midwest Dance Collective, under the Direction of Ellen Werksman, was founded in 1998 to find more opportunities for dancers to share their talents with other performers and audiences from diverse backgrounds. The company also focuses on productions for outreach programs, charity events and communities seeking more exposure to the art of dance.
The Midwest Dance Collective will also entertain thousands of holiday travelers at O’Hare on December 9th, as featured performers in the airport’s “Holiday Delights” program. The MDC was the first dance ensemble invited by Mayor Daley to perform for The Holiday Delights Event in 1998.
