“I am a freshman at Barrington High School and I take part in BHS-TV productions. Other students and I who are a part of this group film and edit videos and some of us take photographs as well, including me! We often are asked by sports teams (basketball, football, water polo.. etc.) to photograph their seasons. I enjoy photography as a hobby but I aspire to either be a news reporter or a doctor. I took my snow day photos in my neighbor’s back yard. He had built the drop in and a jump off the back of his garage! The snowboarder in the “Barrington Slopes” picture is from Barrington and has been a friend of mine since grade school.” Thanks for sharing your photos and congratulations, Kelly!

Our second photo contest winner also lives in Barrington with her husband and 18-month-old daughter, Payton. Her name is Casey Kozlowski and her photo titled “Vanishing Village Patio Table” also received 44 votes.

“We moved to Barrington about 5 years ago. I actually grew up in Barrington Hills and graduated from BHS in 1996. Both my husband and I work for Walgreens.  He is a store manager and I am a pharmacist.  I am not a professional photographer but LOVE to take pictures. I was especially proud of my blizzard photos because last week I took a “Mommies with Cameras” class, given by local photographer, Emily Hernandez, who is amazing and taught me how to FINALLY use the manual settings on my digital SLR camera. So, I was proud to say I manually adjusted the settings for ALL of my snowy photos that day! :).”  Casey says she and her husband have been wanting to check out a movie at the dine-in Gold Class Cinemas in South Barrington so she’s thankful for all the votes and excited about winning our photo contest prize.

Gold Class Cinemas at the Arboretum of South Barrington will be giving a pair of tickets to both of our photo contest winners this week. The theater offers a premium movie-going experience with luxury seating, a full service bar and delicious full-service dining options during movies.  They also have some great Valentine’s Day specials which you’ll find by clicking HERE and you can check out their upcoming show schedules on their website at GoldClassCinemas.com.

Congratulations to Kelly and Casey and thanks again to all of you who submitted photos and cast votes in our first ever photo contest. Now that we have the tools in place, we’ll be sure to host more photo contests right here at 365Barrington.com.
