Barrington’s 2012 Fourth of July parade will have to go down as one of the hottest on record. But that didn’t keep thousands from turning out in support of the people and the causes this community cares most about. The committee that puts on the parade deserves high praise and major props for pulling off another great event. Barrington Animal Hospital’s float was designed in honor of our “canine heroes”, depicting the contributions of our military service dogs.
Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital’s float was awarded the Spirit of Barrington prize for the “entry that best exhibited originality, ingenuity and community pride and Citizens for Conservation’s float was honored with the Village President’s Award as the “entry that best exhibited the parade’s theme, ‘Let Freedom Ring: Courage, Service, Honor.”……
