It’s the first day of the month and that means it’s time for another KIDS CLUB contest here at 365Barrington.com. Learning Express Toys is again offering prizes for our winners and, with toys on the line and politics on the mind, the stakes are high for this one! We have winners to announce today from last month’s Classroom Riddle ChallengeAnd, this month, our contest has a presidential theme.  All kids or “kids at heart” are welcome to enter, but you must be a youngin to win ;).

With the 2012 presidential election coming up in November, we’re asking the kids out there this one question:

If you were the President of the United States of America, what would you do to make our country a better place?

Entering this month’s contest is easy….

To enter, all you have to do is type your answer to this question in the form you’ll find below.  But first, here’s a quick look at the answers and our three winners from last month’s Classroom Riddle Challenge.

I take your books from home to school.  I’m red or blue or green or black.  You zip my zippers here and there.  I’m always riding piggyback.
Answer:  A BACKPACK

I have two hands. I have a face.  My hands go round and round.  I have the numbers 1 to 12 instead of smiles and frowns.
Answer:  A CLOCK

I’m a yellow fellow with a pointed head.  As thin as can be.  But I leave a trail on a blank white page when someone writes with me.
Answer:  A PENCIL

I’m covered with lines, and I’m most often white. I’m handy when you want to write.
Answer:  PAPER

I’m rainbow colors like red and blue.  When you draw or color I’m what you use.
Answer:  CRAYONS

Thanks to all of you who took the Classroom Riddle Challenge.  We had fun receiving your answers and are happy to say that everybody correctly solved all of our riddles!  But we only have three prizes to give away so we just drew three names from all of our contest entries.  Each winner will receive a $30 gift certificate to spend at Learning Express Toys in Lake Zurich.  Our winners from August are…

Alex Lynn – a 4th Grader from South Barrington
Hannah Nachtsheim – a 5th Grader from Fox River Grove
Erin Mitchell – a 6th Grader from South Barrington

Congratulations, Alex, Hannah and Erin!  We’ll be in touch in the coming week to let you know how to receive your prize and I know you’ll have fun picking out some new toys at Learning Express in Lake Zurich.  We’re so bummed that Learning Express closed its Barrington store at the Ice House Mall this past week.  But toy sales are going strong at their Lake Zurich location, where they just celebrated 16 years in business at a party last Thursday.

Now to this month’s contest and our highly charged political question.  Any child who submits an answer to this question will be entered into our drawing to win toys from Learning Express next month.  (Adults can play, too, but you’ve gotta be a kid to win.)  We’ll share the answers, reveal the winner and have brand new KIDS CLUB contest for you in exactly one month, on Monday, October 1st.  Entering is easy, just submit your answer in this form…

Fill out my online form.

Thank you and good luck!  We can’t wait to read your thoughts about how you’d make our country a better place!
