I recently left one of Barrington’s hottest new apparel and gift boutiques with a major retail therapy rush and a list of the top 10 new items in the store that they call “must-haves” for fall. If I were you, I’d run to Notice: Accessories for Living on Cook Street if you’re in the market for: a.) a “little bit of sparkle”, b.) the “perfect pants” or c.) a perforated vegan leather dress that’s “celebrates your curves, is hot, very hot, and great for many occasions”.
We’re excited to welcome Notice: Accessories for Living as the newest member of the Barrington Online Marketplace here at 365Barrington.com.
We’ll be sharing their Top 10 “Must Haves” list in a moment, but first, here’s a quick look at how our Marketplace works…

Notice: Accessories for Living opened in Barrington this past May. The Barrington location is the third in this series of family-owned Notice boutiques run by by mom, Mari Barnes and her two daughters, Hannah and Becky. They have two additional Notice locations in Evanston and Lake Geneva.
I caught up with Hannah and Becky to find out about the store’s latest inventory and they shared their favorite new items for fall. Hannah, who manages the Barrington store, told me one of the highlights at Notice is that they work hard to keep their inventory fresh.
“Everything is constantly changing with new scarves, new gloves, great fall pieces, winter items and spring merchandise which will be here before you know it.”
Becky says they’ve learned a lot about what Barrington shoppers want since opening this past spring and are introducing new products based on local customer feedback.
“The Barrington shopper loves feminine designs. They like to be on-trend, with put-together looks that are very fashion-forward, but done in a sophisticated and ladylike way.”
So, without further delay, here’s the list of Notice’s “Top 10 Must Haves for Fall”, complete with explanations from Becky about why these items are great as gifts and made for any wardrobe. (But hands off my perforated vegan leather dress ;))…
10. Lenora Dame – Double Dazzle Bracelet
“A statement bracelet to wear alone or in multiples. They’re a little bit of glam for the fall and going into the holiday season. Wear one, wear two, wear three or wear it with other bracelets you already have. They’ll add a little bit of sparkle for your fall look.”
9. Shawlsmith of London – Graffiti Scarf
“The updated graffiti pattern goes with solids or prints. It’s a really soft scarf and fun print. I love the color blends and how it goes with so many different things and is kind of urban in a way with its spray-painted, graffiti look.”
8. Nest – Pumpkin Chai Candles
“Nest candles are just top-of-the-heap when it comes to candlemakers. Their candles burn beautifully and they smell wonderful. They’re a great hostess gift and they’re a great gift for yourself. And the pumpkin with a hint of masada chai is a quintessential seasonal fragrance so they’re extra awesome.”
7. MOON – Military Pant
“They’re heavier than a legging but more fashion forward than a pant in olive, gray or black and they’re super-comfortable with their elastic waistband. You can dress them up, dress them down, wear them with boots or wear them with flats. They’re the perfect pant.”
6. Studded Leather Cuff Bracelet
“Leather is very ‘in’ for the season. We chose our leather bracelets because they have so much style, come in fun colors and are made in America. With a tight pant and cozy sweater, this cuff makes the outfit.”
5. Yoon – Jacquard Cardigan
“They’re modern cardigans in a wool/cashmere blend that keep you warm while looking fashionable. If you look at the front of the sweater, there’s a little cut-out detail at the bottom which shows off the cami you’re wearing underneath or the dress you’re wearing it over. It’s very cool.”
4. Orla Kiley – Stem Print Tote
“Orla Kiley’s stem patterns are iconic in a way. She always does a new take on her one stem print and her products are seasonless. You can carry her bags throughout the year. They’re durable, adorable and always in style.”
3. Eva Franco Pillard Jacket
“This designer is known for her ability to dress real women and celebrate their curves with bold patterns and texture in leather, real and faux. The Pillard Jacket is a classic, equestrian shape. But in the black, orange and red color scheme, it’s a very interesting and on-trend color combo for the fall and winter.”
2. Eva Franco – Cubic Leather Dress
“Eva’s designs are made to flatter a woman’s figure. They’re classic in an updated way so they make you feel like a million bucks when you put them on. They show off your curves, but they’re ladylike and they’re always on-trend with the leather, but they’re not done in a crazy way.”
1. Eva Franco – Perforated Leather Dress or Skirt
“Eva’s styles look great on a size zero and they look just as great on a size 12 so she really designs to show off a woman’s figure and her curves and that’s what makes her garments so special. These perforated pieces are made of vegan leather. And that means no animals were harmed in the process.”
Because Becky told me that a recent customer purchased Eva Franco’s perforated leather dress to wear to three weddings and a bat mitzvah, I have to share one more bonus photo of that dress which is the one Becky calls a “hot dress, very hot, for many occasions.” Ok, she had me at ‘hot’. I’ll take the loopy necklace, too!
