We’ve been working on something new behind the scenes here at 365Barrington.com. But now that December is here, we’re officially taking the wrapper off our 2012 holiday gift guide called “Great Gifts of Barrington”, a new resource for local shoppers.
We’ve interviewed many merchants around town and asked them two simple questions. First, we asked them to share one great gift people can purchase at their store this holiday season. Second, we asked them to share one more thing they’d like us to know about what they have to offer for the holidays.
And we’re getting started today by sharing some great gifts you can purchase today at Savvy Spirit, a popular store for women’s clothing and accessories which has been in the Ice House Mall for the past 16 years.
Rosemary and Linda are the two ladies in charge over at Savvy Spirit and the say they like to think of themselves as personal shoppers.
Rosemary Doherty has been purchasing merchandise for the store for many years. “We are definitely a boutique. We usually only get four to six of any item that we have here in the store. We hand choose everything, try on everything and 99% of our stuff is not found in department stores.”
For gifts this year, Rosemary says you can’t go wrong with one of the beautiful, one-of-a-kind Beata’s Soul Art felt scarves hand-painted by Beata Krasuski, ranging in price from about $60 to $80. They also carry a line of convertible handbags called Samoe Style with adjustable straps so you can wear them in different ways. “We’ve also added some pine cone candles for the holidays, wine bags, wine stoppers and a few things like that for someone who wants to pick up some stocking stuffers.”
And, if you need an outfit to wear to a holiday party or event this year, Rosemary says Savvy Spirit has you covered. “We don’t do super dressy clothes, but if you’re going to a holiday party or a cocktail party we have some fun jewelry, tops, skirts and pants and things that would allow you to look a little different from everybody else.”
