Barrington Life - June 20th, 2013 Issue

Our partners at Shaw Media’s Barrington Life have been working hard to cover stories about Barrington over the past seven days.  Did you get this week’s copy of their newspaper in the mail today?  I love the cover photo, highlighting Cruise Nights, one of Barrington’s favorite places for summer fun.

Here are five of the stories you’ll find this week in Barrington Life, according to the paper’s editor, Dan McCaleb:

Barrington’s Police Explorer Program
The program, led by Barrington Police Chief David Dorn, will lose four Explorers at the end of this month and needs to replenish its ranks. The program is open to male and female high school students who are considering a career in law enforcement.

Prairie Middle School teacher Megan Donavon’s summer art workshop
Think school’s out for the summer? Think again. Donavon and her students are passionate about art, and they meet five days a week during the summer to prove it.  Click Here for the story…

Barrington High School’s Business Start-Up Incubator
We interview two local entrepreneurs who helped launch the high school program.

BHS junior and actor Austin Grzebieniak
Grzebieniak is spending much of his time this summer Kate Winslet and the rest of the cast of “Divergent,” a Neil Burger-directed film that is expected to open in theaters in 2014.

Cruise Nights
Lots of cool photos, too.

Much more.
