Barrington High School students take the stage for a competitive singing competition – “American Idol” style.  Learn why this year’s winner, Maggie Quinn, wasn’t sure she wanted to tryout until the very last minute.  Plus, last year’s winner shocked the crowd when he took the stage once more.

Get to know Morgan Clune
This Barrington 8th grader surprised herself and the nation when she was named the National Elite dancer within the junior division of the National Dance Competition held in Las Vegas.  Clune learned hard work pays off and she’s not about to retire her dance shoes any time soon!  Barrington Life tells of Clune’s dance experience, dedicated lifestyle and goals for the future.

Local family raises big bucks for ALS research
Barrington resident, Paul Launer, joined more than 170 walkers in the Les Turner ALS Walk4Life in Chicago this past weekend – and he brought his home-based Iron Horse Brigade!  Barrington Life spoke with Launer’s young daughters and local helpers to learn more about the community’s support.

BHS graduate named Loyola hockey coach
Grant Riendeau is proving experience can mean more than age as he heads into the 2013-2014 season as the team’s head coach at just 22 years old!  Riendeau told Barrington Life he has two goals – to revamp Loyola’s hockey program and to win.  This week’s story sheds some light on Riendeau’s coaching philosophy.
