Call your friends, line up a sitter and get ready to sip wine with a social approach to tackling some of this year’s holiday shopping. The merchants in downtown Barrington are kicking off the holiday shopping season with a Holiday Wine Walk this Saturday, November 23, 2013, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Over thirty shops and restaurants are participating in this fun event that grows more popular with each season. The Holiday Wine Walk will offer free wine tastings and other tasty treats at each of the merchant stops. There will also be wine tastings at The Annex, Vin Chicago and Grassroots from 2 to 6 p.m. Customers can begin the Holiday Wine Walk at any participating business by picking up a location map for the tastings.
The Holiday Wine Walk is a wonderful opportunity for guests to experience the shops and restaurants in downtown Barrington, at the Shops on Lageschulte and the Ice House Mall where shop owners are eager to highlight their merchandise, unique gifts and specialty items.
Plan to spend the day walking around town, tastings delicious wines, socializing with friends and finding those unique, one-of-a-kind gifts for the people on your list. Then, settle in for a wonderful dinner at one of your favorite restaurants in the Village of Barrington.

The wines for Saturday’s event are being provided by Heinen’s grocery store, Near Restaurant, McGonigal’s Pub, The Annex, Grassroots, Ciao Baby, Jewel-Osco, Cooper’s of Barrington, Vin Chicago and Chessie’s.
