Barrington High School’s inaugural Business Start-Up Incubator class has produced over two dozen exciting and extremely promising new business concepts with classmates working together toward a pot of gold that awaits at the end of the school year. 124 BHS sophomores and juniors are taking part in this year’s course with teams of about five students behind each new business concept.
The class will culminate with a “Pitch Week” and a public event on Wednesday, May 28th, when students will have the opportunity to promote their business idea to a non-profit, private-equity group as well as investors and venture capitalists. At least one student business will be funded, receiving a significant financial investment toward making their business a reality.
In the weeks ahead, students will be introducing us to their business concepts in a series of profiles here at 365Barrington.com, starting today with the help of reporter, Catherine Goetze.
In her latest video for 365BarringtonTV, Catherine takes us inside the BHS Business Start-Up Incubator to introduce us to the teacher and the team behind a practical new technology that will help students in a big way while they’re waiting for the bus.
