Today is the last day to order Holiday Teacher Tributes to honor the Barrington 220 teachers and staff members who make a difference in our students’ lives each day. Sending a tribute to your child’s favorite teacher through Barrington 220 Educational Foundation‘s Teacher Tribute program is a great way to show how much they are appreciated.

Honorees will receive personalized cards to let them know of your generous donation to the Foundation in their honor. All cards will be delivered prior to the winter break and all honorees will be acknowledged at 220Foundation.org.

In order for Teacher Tributes to be delivered prior to the winter break, all donations must be received by December 11, 2018.

Teacher Tribute donations fund the Educational Foundation’s Helping Hand and P.I.E. Grants. Your gift to your child’s teacher helps transform the classroom.

The Barrington 220 Educational Foundation’s mission is to encourage curiosity, inspire students’ passion for learning and career exploration and provide enriching opportunities through private funding.

Funds are awarded in following grant categories: 

  • PROJECT
    A one-time award for an effort that enhances learning opportunities
  • PROJECTS FOR INNOVATION AND ENHANCEMENT (PIE)
    Allows teachers and staff to introduce innovative programs that benefit students. This grant has a maximum award of $1500)
  • HELPING HAND GRANTS
    When other funding sources are limited, teachers and staff may apply for a Helping Hand to obtain funding for practical supplies for instructional projects. Awards have a maximum of $500
  • MEMORIAL
    A grant that honors the memory of a family or community member

Thanks to the incredible generosity of alumni, individuals and businesses, since 1999 the Educational Foundation has donated more than $3 million to Barrington 220 School District. Programs funded and/or supported by the foundation include district’s Elementary STEM program, the BHS Health Sciences Lab, Sunny Hill Learning Commons, BHS-TV and the BHS Business Incubator.
