Condoleezza Rice & William M. Daley to Speak at 2021 Barrington Town-Warming

66th Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice and 32nd U.S. Secretary of Commerce, William M. Daley are the featured speakers for the 4th annual Barrington Town-Warming. Hosted by The virtual event will be live-streamed from Barrington’s White House from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 23rd, 2021. Hosted by The Barrington Cultural Commission, Barrington’s Town-Warming is a re-creation of the robust lecture series which was originally held in Barrington during the Depression era.

The theme for this year’s Town Warming is “What Now? Looking Ahead to the Post-Pandemic World.”

This year’s extraordinary keynote speaker is 66th Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, who will appear in a virtual fireside chat with Motorola President and CEO Greg Brown.

The day also features a virtual discussion of post-election politics between Mr. Brown and William M. Daley, Vice Chairman of Public Affairs for Wells Fargo and the 32nd U.S. Secretary of Commerce under President Bill Clinton.

A four-person panel will discuss “Future Trends After the Pandemic” and will include Jessica Hector-Hsu of the Regional Transportation Authority; Ron Lunt of Hamilton Partners; Joyce St. Clair of The Northern Trust Company; and Dr. Avis Proctor of Harper College.

Historian Barbara Benson will also give a perspective on the role of Barrington’s White House during the 1918 influenza pandemic, while Rev. Dr. Zina Jacque will once again provide inspirational opening remarks.

The Barrington Cultural Commission is a 12-member body whose purpose is to coordinate and cross-promote the many cultural activities occurring in the Village.
