There’s a Fall Harvest Party happening at Citizens Park tonight to benefit the Barrington Smart Farm’s successful growing season. The Smart Farm is a group of local gardeners who grow fruits and vegetables in a community garden in Barrington to donate to the Cuba Township food pantry. They also work to teach people about gardening, agriculture and the benefits of green living.  Here’s a look at their cabbage patch crop this year.

The Smart Farm is hosting their second annual harvest celebration from 5 to 7:30 at Citizens Park in Barrington tonight. It’s their annual fundraiser and there will be a light dinner, cocktails and music. We first wrote about the Smart Farm at the beginning of the growing season back in April when they were number 7 on our list of 365 Things to do in Barrington.  Tonight, they’ll be celebrating the fruits of their hard work and they’re hoping that we can come join them.

Tickets for tonight’s Fall Harvest Celebration are $50.  You can purchase tickets at the door or register online by clicking HERE.  The event will take place at Citizens Park, rain or shine.  You’ll find Citizens Park at 511 Lake Zurich Road in Barrington and you can read more about the Barrington Smart Farm initiative on their website at SmartFarms.org.
