Guess Where Wednesday

Last Wednesday’s Halloween mystery photo here at 365Barrington.com was a tough one. You really needed your thinking cap to figure out where the photo of those two little chocolate ghosts was taken. But we have a winner and a great new prize for this week’s contest. We’ll get to those in a minute. But first, here is our new mystery photo of the week. I found something with a football theme to mark the end of a great Bronco’s Football season. Can you guess where I was when I took this picture?

Guess Where Wednesday

We’ll get to this week’s prize in a minute. But first, let’s talk about last week’s winner. Just moments ago we drew the winning name and it is…

Winner of the Anna Shea Chocolates Mystery Photo Contest

Thanks for your guess and congratulations, John. I’ll be emailing you this afternoon with details about how to receive your $25 gift certificate to Angelina boutique in Barrington. It’s a great place to shop for gifts, cards and home accents. Click HERE to view last week’s photo and to see all of the guesses.

Chocolate Lounge in South BarringtonThe two little chocolate ghosts were hand made by chocolatiers at Anna Shea Chocolates in South Barrington. They create special, hand-crafted chocolates for all of the holidays which taste even better than they look. You’ll find the chocolate lounge in the Arboretum of South Barrington at Rte. 59 and Higgins Road.   Anna Shea Chocolates is also offering our new prize for the winner of this week’s contest.

This Week’s Prize

And in keeping with our “30 Ways in 30 Days” project, I decided to ask Barrington High School Head Football Coach, Joe Sanchez, what he’s most thankful for this year and about his favorite Thanksgiving tradition.  Here’s what he had to say.

Head Bronco's Football Coach, Joe Sanchez“I’m just grateful to have the people that I do around me in my life. I’m grateful for my family and the people I’m able to work with in both teaching and in coaching and I’m just grateful to be a part of a really great community.” And his favorite Thanksgiving tradition? “Every year since I’ve been in high school I have played a “Turkey Bowl” football game with friends from high school, college and beyond on Thanksgiving Day morning. We’re sore for about a week or so after, but that’s one thing I look forward to every year because it’s the one day I’m actually playing the game each year. Every other time I’m just coaching.”

Coach Sanchez says he plays that “Turkey Bowl” game somewhere in Barrington, but wouldn’t reveal the top secret location. He has been coaching Barrington High School Football and teaching Social Studies there for the past 15 years. His Varsity team had a great season, starting off with seven straight wins before ending the season seven and three. The team lost their first round playoff game last weekend, but placed second in the Mid Suburban West league, which is a great finish. Coach Sanchez says, “There was naturally a great camaraderie among this group. We had Seniors, Juniors and a couple of Sophomores. They just seemed to gel and in in some years that just comes more naturally than others.”

So there you go! A little BHS Football recap to go with this week’s mystery photo. All you have to do is SUBMIT YOUR GUESS IN THE “COMMENTS” BOX BELOW. 1. Had to ask my boys for some help on this one…our guess is a sign at Wool Street.

The boys would like a piece of the SWEET Prize candy too, if I decide to share it with them.
