Chili Cook-Off at the South Barrington Arboretum

If you like to eat chili, you do not want to miss the second annual “Chilly Challenge” Chili Cook-off at the South Barrington Arboretum. It’s happening TODAY, Saturday, January 29th, from 1 to 3PM.  They asked me to be a guest judge so I’ll  be there, but I could use your help. Why not skip the same-old sandwich for lunch today and join me in sampling some of the best chili South Barrington has to offer!

Chili Cook-Off at the South Barrington Arboretum

I will be one of several guest judges rating chili recipes from participating South Barrington restaurants.

Coopers Hawk Winery & Restaurant, Pinstripes Bowling-Bocce-Bistro, L’Eiffel Bistrot & Creperie, Panera Bread, Nozumi Japanese Cuisine and defending champion from last year’s event, Ruth’s Chris Steak House will all be serving up their best chili recipes. Plus, Anna She Chocolates & Lounge will be serving up Fuego Bon Bons, the perfect combination of sweet and savory to top off an afternoon of taste testing. Tickets are $10 at the door and the restaurant chili tour starts at 1PM at Pinstripes. There will be shuttles to whisk guests away to each participating restaurant and the proceeds will benefit Gigi’s Playhouse in Hoffman Estates. Gigi’s Playhouse is a national organization that provides education, resources and support to individuals with Down Syndrome and their families.

You’ll find the Arboretum at 100 W. Higgins Road in South Barrington and you’ll find more information about today’s Chili Cookoff at ShopTheArboretumSB.com.
