Welcome to This Day in Barrington History
Welcome to Sunday, January 17th and Day 17 of 365 in Barrington, Illinois! You’ll find our stories of the day – past, present & future (events) – right here on today’s DailyPage.
Because every day has its own rhythm, we’re sharing a song of the day here at 365Barrington.com. On this day, January 17th in 1967, The Daily Mail ran the story about a local council survey finding 4,000 holes in the road in Lancashire inspiring John Lennon‘s contribution to the final verse of The Beatles song, A Day in the Life. The band began recording the song two days later, on January 19, 1967. Did you know that Lennon’s lyrics were mainly inspired by contemporary newspaper articles? It was news to me!
