We’ll get to this week’s prize in a minute. But first, let’s talk about last week’s winner. We had a bunch of correct guessers last week, but we drew the name today and the winner is…

Dottie Broznowski!

Thanks for your guess and congratulations, Dottie! I’ll be emailing you this afternoon with details about how to receive your $50 gift card to TT Patton Fine Stationery in Barrington.  Our thanks to the shop’s owner, Theresa Patton, for this generous prize!  Click HERE to view last week’s photo. Here’s another, more revealing look at the spot where we took that picture.

Giant Pumpkin at Goebberts Farm Market in South Barrington

Great Goebbert! You just haven’t done Halloween in Barrington if you’ve never been to Goebbert’s Farm Market. The mystery photo is of the giant pumpkin which sits atop the silo at Goebbert’s in South Barrington. Did you know this pumpkin has a name? Yep. It’s “Happy Jack” and he’s been sitting up on top of that silo since 1979. He’s made out of fiberglass, weighs one ton and measures 18 feet wide and 15 feet tall. They had to use a crane to get him up there! Goebbert’s is gearing up for their Fall Festival which starts this weekend on Saturday. We’ll be writing more about the fall festival here at 365Barrington.com in the coming days, which brings me to the new prize for our “Guess Where Wednesday” mystery photo contest.

This Week’s Prize

If you submit a correct guess for where today’s mystery photo was taken, you could win a $30 gift card to Goebbert’s, just in time for pumpkin season. They have a great selection of mums, halloween decorations, corn stalks and absolutely everything you need to deck your home for Halloween. It’s time to start spooking things up around town, so submit your guess for a shot at the “Great Goebbert Gift Card!”

Here’s how it works:

  • You can submit your guesses about where today’s mystery photo was taken in the comments area for this post.
  • You have until midnight on Friday to submit your guess.
  • The following Wednesday, we’ll draw a name, reveal the winner at 365Barrington.com and contact the winner with instructions about receiving the prize of the week.
  • Only one guess per person is allowed.
  • Only guesses posted here on this website, not on Facebook or Twitter, will be entered into the weekly drawing.
  • Your email address must be valid, so we can contact you if you win.

All you have to do is SUBMIT YOUR GUESS IN THE “COMMENTS” BOX BELOW. If you’ve guessed in our previous contests, please feel free to participate again this week! We’d love to see as many guesses as possible. We’re also working on finding more great prizes for future “Guess Where Wednesdays”. If you would like to offer one of our upcoming “Guess Where Wednesday” prizes, please drop me a note at Liz@TheLubyGroup.com. In the meantime, good luck with your guessing and here’s one more look at this week’s Mystery Photo.

  1. I believe that is one of the dining cars at 111 Grille in the Ice House Mall (formerly Chessies).

Great game! You guys are so great at marketing and getting in fron of people! I love it!

  2. The train used to be part of Chessie’s, but is now part of 111 Grille in Barrington. I miss Chessie’s, I gotta say. It’s not the same.
