Are you ready for another mystery photo here at 365Barrington.com? We’re announcing the winner of last week’s “Guess Where Wednesday” contest today and we also have a new photo and a new prize for this week’s contest. I have a feeling this might be an easy one, but I could be wrong. Can you guess where in Barrington this picture was taken?
We’ll get to this week’s prize in a minute. But first, let’s talk about last week’s winner. Thanks to all of you who entered our contest last week. We had a lot of guessers and all of you were right, except for my mom. Her answer was very clever, but it was INCORRECT ;). I’m happy to announce that we did draw the winner’s name today and it is…
Jill! Thanks for your guess and congratulations, Jill. I have your email address and will be writing to you this afternoon with details about how to receive your prize, two tickets for a private, three-hour, docent-guided tour of the Sanfilippo Estate in Barrington Hills. Click HERE to view last week’s mystery photo. You’ll also see all of our guesses in the “Comments Area” for that post. Here’s another, more revealing look at the spot where we took that picture.
The photo is of the airplanes on the ceiling at The Canteen Restaurant in Barrington. They’re WWII model airplanes donated by the Canteen’s customers over the years since the restaurant opened its doors in 1945. We featured the Canteen Restaurant on this blog back in May when it was #46 on our list of 365 things to do in Barrington. Which brings me to this week’s prize:
This Week’s Prize
Another Barrington business that we’ve featured in May here on this blog is TT Patton Fine Stationery. The owner, Theresa Patton, is offering the winner of this week’s mystery photo contest a $50 gift certificate to her store at 123 E. Station Street in Barrington. Theresa has a great selection of beautiful personalized stationery, fountain pens, journals and just about anything you need “for the art of fine writing”. Her store was first featured on 365Barrington.com this past Mother’s Day weekend when she made #38 on our list. And we also wrote about Theresa for #115 on our list when she agreed to be a guest writer here during the last week of July. This is a very generous prize that could be yours if you submit a correct guess during our contest this week.
Here’s how it works:
- You can submit your guesses about where today’s mystery photo was taken in the comments area for this post.
- You have until midnight on Friday to submit your guess.
- The following Wednesday, we’ll draw a name, reveal the winner at 365Barrington.com and contact the winner with instructions about receiving the prize of the week.
- Only one guess per person is allowed.
- Only guesses posted here on this website, not on Facebook or Twitter, will be entered into the weekly drawing.
- Your email address must be valid, so we can contact you if you win.
All you have to do is SUBMIT YOUR GUESS IN THE “COMMENTS” BOX BELOW. If you’ve guessed in our previous contests, please feel free to participate again this week! We’d love to see as many guesses as possible. We’re also working on finding more great prizes for future “Guess Where Wednesdays”. If you would like to offer one of our upcoming “Guess Where Wednesday” prizes, please drop me a note at Liz@TheLubyGroup.com. In the meantime, happy Hump Day, good luck with your guessing and here’s one more look at this week’s Mystery Photo.
