It’s that time of year again! Two Barrington moms are hosting a their seasonal boutique and designer children’s clothing and baby gear consignment sale this week and they’re busy setting up as we speak.
Over 230 consignors have contributed more than 14,000 items to this week’s four-day sale which starts this Thursday, March 3rd and runs through Sunday, March 6th.
They’re expecting about 500 shoppers this week and they’re setting up in a great vacant space at The Shops at Flint Creek at 500 North Hough Street in Barrington. That’s one block South of Route 14 across from Staples and Tropical Smoothie. The founders of Growing Cents of Style hosted their first sale in 2006 with just 40 consignors and, with each sale, participation and attendance grows significantly. “We’re dedicated to selling the highest quality boutique and designer clothing (sizes newborn – size 16), shoes, accessories and baby gear. Our mission is to offer other mothers a way to earn some extra money for their families and help shoppers find the children’s clothing they desire most at a fraction of the cost.”
They have also found several ways to use their sale to give back to the community. They offer deep discounts to charitable organizations that benefit families in need. Consignors also have the option to donate their unsold items at the end of the sale. Plus, they work hard to promote Hope 4 Bridget, a foundation started by a Barrington family dedicated to fighting Batten’s Disease.
Growing Cents of Style hosts two sales a year and also made number 169 on our list of 365 Things to do in Barrington last September. You’ll find that post with more sale photos by clicking HERE. You’ll also find more information about the sale and participating in future sales at their website, GrowingCentsofStyle.com.
