Have you ever heard of Barrington’s “SoLa” neighborhood? The nickname is short for “South Lageschulte Street”, it’s a hidden little shopping mecca in downtown Barrington and it’s THE PLACE TO BE to find specials on great Christmas gifts this afternoon. The holiday event is called “Lights on Lageschulte” and it starts today at 1PM.
There are 11 stores and businesses taking part in “Lights on Lageshulte” and the event will offer more than just shopping.
The Barrington Children’s Choir and The Barrington High School Madrigals will be caroling from shop to shop and a traveling magician will be there to entertain guests and make balloon animals from 4:30 until 6PM. Here’s a taste of what you’ll hear as you shop tomorrow…
Norton’s U.S.A., Studio 4 Hair, Joyce’s Driving School, Surface Group International, The Pink Geranium, The Doghouse of Barrington, One Girl, Bella Style Boutique, Tru Bleu, The Original Tracks and Steeplechase Antiques are all taking part and offering specials and refreshments from 1PM until 6PM. It’s a great opportunity to get to know these local businesses and add a few Barrington treasures to be discovered under your tree this year. You’ll find the Shops on Lageschulte Street, just south Main Street, just west of Dundee Avenue and just east of Hart Road & the High School in Barrington.
And if you’d like to drop in and see Santa while you’re in the neighborhood, the timing is perfect! Santa Claus will be visiting The Sweet Spot Candy Shop at 102 South Hager today between 12 and 5PM. You can stock up on all the stocking stuffers you’ll need at this one-stop-shop for all things sugary.
