I’m one of those people who feels like I have to get back in shape before I go back to the gym. Kind of like cleaning the house before the cleaning lady comes. But I’ve decided that’s just not going to cut it anymore. I need to crawl out from behind this computer, get out of the office and get my exercise routine back on track. And this is the perfect time to do it! The Barrington Park District is hosting a big open house this Saturday for the 1-year anniversary of the new Fitness & Recreation Center.
The theme of the open house is “Get Fit & Have Fun in 2011”. From 10AM until 1PM on this Saturday, January 8th, you’ll be able to try out their exercise equipment and classes, meet their instructors and enjoy discounts on selected classes and 1-year Fitness Center Memberships. Plus, they’ll be giving away a long list of prizes, including:
- Teens: 14-19 years old can win 1 or 2 I-Pods if they register for a 1-year Fitness Membership
- $100-Off Pool Pass
- 50%-Off Full or Executive 1-Year Fitness Membership
- Free 2-hour Treehouse Rental (based on availability)
- 8 Fleece Blankets
- 2 Sets of Luggage
Plus, the first 50 people to register for over $100 worth of programs will receive a 2011 Pocket Calendar. The Barrington Park District Fitness and Recreation Center offers an indoor track, 2 full basketball courts, an expansive exercise equipment facility, three group workout rooms for classes plus a nursery offering childcare while you workout. You’ll find the Fitness & Recreation Center at 235 Lions Drive in Barrington. You can reach them by phone at 847-381-0687 or find them online at BarringtonParkDistrict.org.
