One of the organizers of this Saturday’s 60010 Barrington Bridal Connection Show is THE go-to guy in town if you’re looking for remarkable gifts and beautiful accents for your home or table. His name is Rusty Hernandez and he’s the owner of the Barrington Home Shoppe.
The Barrington Home Shoppe has been a local resource for brides-to-be for years. And Rusty says many of their clients come in looking for memorable gifts to give on milestone occasions, like weddings, anniversaries and new home purchases. So, a couple of years ago, he added a Barrington Home Shoppe Bridal Registry to the list of services they provide and it’s been a big success!
“We offer the personal shopper, personal touch registry where we invite brides to come in, even after business hours, so they can shop with privacy, peace and quiet. We monitor their registry as it’s moving along and keep the bride abreast of what has been purchased. We offer complimentary gift wrapping and free delivery at the convenience of the bride and groom after the wedding. We make it convenient and we make it easy.” I wanted to register all over again when I saw the Simon Pearce hand blown glass “Woodbury Pitchers” that are currently on display by the shop’s main entrance.
Rusty immediately gave me the 4-1-1 on Simon Pearce, who opened his first glassblowing workshop in Ireland in 1971 and moved his operation to Vermont 10 years later.
He’s also the father of top US snowboarder, Kevin Pearce, who suffered a severe brain injury while training for an Olympic qualifying event in 2009. These are just a few interesting details that I now know, thanks to Rusty. He casually shared specifics from a number of his product lines during a quick tour of his shop this week with a knowledgeable, kind and personal touch that you’ll never find shopping online.
He chooses his products carefully, with great taste and an eye for design and quality. Arte Italica, Juliska, Vietri, Mariposa, Nambe, Julia Knight, Michael Aram, Casafina and Simon Pearce are some of the top sellers at the Barrington Home Shoppe.
And Rusty hopes you’ll come and see him during this weekend’s first annual 60010 Barrington Bridal Connection Show at the Ice House Mall this Saturday between Noon and 4PM. It may be a bridal show, but it’s not just for brides. You’ll get so many ideas for planning all kinds of parties or simply entertaining at home. I also saw some great ideas for Valentine’s Day gifts when I dropped by to visit the store and, now that I think of it, I know exactly who I can give that Simon Pearce pitcher to, unless you beat me to it ;).
You’ll find the Barrington Home Shoppe in the Ice House Mall at 200 Applebee Street and can learn more about the Barrington Home Shoppe on their Facebook page by clicking HERE or on their website at BarringtonHomeShoppe.com.
The shoppe looks fantastic! I didn’t know all of this about the products, which makes the buying experience so much more rewarding. Thanks Rusty! It’s all about the personal touch you and your team bring to Barrington.
