It’s a summer shopping tradition in Barrington and it starts today! Sidewalk Days are back, giving us all a great opportunity to find sweet deals at shops throughout Barrington.

Dozens of Barrington retail stores and vendors are participating in the three-day event.  You’ll find tents set up along the sidewalks of Barrington, at the Ice House Mall, Shops on Lageschulte and at The Foundry of Barrington.  The tents are already up and the savings are sizzling, so what are you waiting for?

Plus, if you come out to Sidewalk Days today, the Barrington Farmers Market and Cruise Nights will also be going on so there will be much to see and do downtown.  Not only are the shops are offering deep discounts on great merchandise, take a look at these other special events scheduled for the next three days…

Thursday, July 28th – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

 

  • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Chalk Art Contest at the Ice House Mall & Village Shops, 200 Applebee Street
  • 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Used battery and oil collection at Douglas Automotive Inc., 312 S. Hagar Avenue
  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Amazing Jack’s Balloon Magic at the Ice House Mall & Village Shops, 200 Applebee Street
  • 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. – Barrington Farmers Market,
  • All Day – Cooper’s Coloring Contest for Kids, 117 S. Hough Street
  • All day – Children’s Activities at the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce tent, 105 S. Cook Street

Friday, July 29 – 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Used CFL light bulb colllection at Barrington Public Works, 300 N. Raymond
  • 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Chalk Art Contest at the Ice House Mall & Village Shops – 200 Applebee Street
  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Amazing Jack’s Balloon Magic at the Ice House Mall & Village Shops, 200 Applebee Street
  • 3 p.m. – Chalk Art Contest judging at the Ice House Mall & Village Shops
  • 4 p.m. – Junior Entrepreneur Judging
  • All Day – Coopers Coloring Contest for Kids, 117 S. Hough Street
  • All Day – Children’s Activities at the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce tent, 105 S. Cook Street

Saturday, July 30 – 10 a.m to 3 p.m.

  • 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Vintage Tech Recycling at the Foundry of Barrington
  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Amazing Jack’s Balloon Magic at the Ice House Mall & Village Shops, 200 Applebee Street
  • All Day – Cooper’s Coloring Contest for Kids, 117 S. Hough Street
  • All day – Children’s Activities at the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce tent, 105 S. Cook Street

If you’d like to meet some of Barrington’s youngest business owners, Sidewalk Days is a great time to do it.  Members of the Barrington Area Junior Entrepreneurs will have their products on display and some of them will be receiving awards for things like Going above and beyond in community involvement, Ingenious presentation of both booth and goods and Best overall attitude.  Judging for these awards will take place at Cook Street Coffee tonight from 5:30 to 6 p.m.  The Sidewalk Days event is organized each year by the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce.  You can learn more about the Barrington Chamber on their website at BarringtonChamber.com.
