If you haven’t signed up for Barrington 220’s latest Parent University session on math and literacy in our schools, that’s ok. You’re still welcome to come out to tonight’s presentation for a wealth of information that will help you reinforce at home what your kids are learning in the classroom.
Tonight’s Parent University is one of three remaining Parent University sessions scheduled for the 2014/2015 school year. It will last from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 28th at Roslyn Road Elementary School (224 W. Roslyn Road) in Barrington.
Are you interested in learning more about our district’s math curriculum? Are you confused by the problem solving method – bar modeling – used in our schools today? Do you wonder how we are teaching spelling or how to help your children at home? If so, this is the parent university for you!
There are eight breakout sessions scheduled for tonight and you are welcome to pick and choose which would be most helpful and attend as space allows. CLICK HERE for the full list of breakout sessions.
If you can’t attend tonight, these two Parent University sessions are coming up in February:

The district must adjust to meet requirements of this new assessment system. This session will discuss the local response to the state requirements alongside the needs of the students in Barrington 220.

The session will end with an overview of the new online registration system that will be used for the 2015–16 school year.
